Focus and Scope

Journal of Islamic Law Studies; Sharia Journal (formerly known as Jurnal Syariah) is an initiative of Center of Islam and Islamic Law Studies (Lembaga Kajian Islam dan Hukum Islam) Faculty of Law University of Indonesia. It aims primarily to facilitate scholarly and professional discussions over current developments on Islam and Islamic Law issues in Indonesia as well as to publish innovative legal researches concerning Islam and Islamic Law.

Published in English and Bahasa Indonesia, JILS seeks to expand the boundaries of Islamic Law discourses, in particular, Islamic Law issue in Indonesia to access contributors and readers all over the world. JILS welcomes contributions from international legal scholars and professionals as well as from representatives of courts, executive authorities, and shariah scholar.

JILS basically contains any novel topics concerning Islam and Islamic Law issue in Indonesia. The range of contents covered by our journal include but not limited to:
